October is a time when people talk about frightful things. The most frightful thing I can think of is the fact that people deny and reject the plan of a powerful all-knowing God. God keeps His promises, is just, in control and has a plan for their salvation. Justice says we all have sinned and deserve to die. God gives us the choice on how we should respond. There are consequences for our actions and choices in how we respond. History shows us that through the years God has used nature to remind people of His power. The Bible teaches us of God’s plan of growth & protection of His children.

Do you ever think about it? God can fit inside our life and still hold the entire world in His hand but that is not hard for Him. The hardest part is God working His good will in our everyday life because He waits for us to respond to the calling to the task at hand. The Bible and the Holy Spirit can make God’s character know to us in a personal relationship when we are willing. God will guide and provide and will help us know what to do. He will keep His promises, we need to claim them. God’s Word teaches us about the promises and plans and how to take a stand. It also shows us how God can work good through sinful people and how He is powerful and in control.  Nothing is to hard or impossible with God.

Oct 2 Are you anxious, concerned, fearful or stressed out? With all the catastrophic hurricanes, massive droughts, earthquakes, fires, recording breaking flood levels, deadly storms, sink holes, landslides, and other disasters many assume that things are out of control. The Bible teaches us differently, God is all powerful and in control of all things. A 600-year-old man can follow God’s instructions to save his family. We sometimes focus to much on the 3-deck vessel and the living conditions aboard it for half a year when the real story is God gave the ok the man obeyed, God shut the door, and God rescued Noah and his family not just from death by flood but death from sin.  – Genesis 6:9-9:1; 2 Samuel 7:22

Oct 9 He did not have a cell phone, GPS, or even a car but he was still able to find his way. He used faith to show the direction and way begin a journey that led the way for our Savior. Abram responded to the call to serve the True Living God. God is all knowing – Genesis 12:1-9; 15; Psalm 32:8; 2 Samuel 7:22. Hebrews 11:8-19. God helps people know what to do. It is up to us to choose to follow the plan.

Oct 16 The Bible is the perfect place to find out how great God really is. God is faithful and just. – Genesis 17:1-8, 15-22; 18:1-15; 21:1-7; Numbers 23:19; 2 Samuel 7:22. Abraham found out that what he thought was impossible was possible through the power of God. See what great characteristics you can find – Psalm 8:1; 103:8; Psalm 111:3; Proverbs 3:19. God will keep His promises.

Oct 23 Trusting and obeying are not the same thing but they work very well together. Abraham obeyed God because he trusted the plan God had for him and his family. God deserves respect, obedience, and honor. – Genesis 22:1-19; Deuteronomy 13:3; 2 Samuel 7:22; Psalm 16:1; 73:25-26; Philippians 4:19. God provides the lamb to stand in my place. Are you searching your own life to see what God is asking you to do?

Oct 30 Have you heard the news? God is great and there is no other like Him.  God is everywhere we go at all times. God has plans for you.  – Genesis 28; Isaiah 41:10; 2 Samuel 7:22 As Jacob traveled God spoke to him. God promised that He would be with Jacob. He found comfort in knowing God was with him.
