Our children’s ministries are led by Randy Billings, who says “We are teaching that God’s Word is living and applies to us today. We are teaching children to be examples to those around them.”
As the Scripture teaches, “Let no one despise your youth; instead, you should be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
Billings adds, “We are excited to have the privilege of teaching children and we have teacher training classes to better prepare ourselves to teach children.”
Billings wants children and their parents to understand that God has blessed us by providing this special book of life instructions – the Bible (read 2 Timothy 3:15-17).
He asks children to bring their Bible to church, noting “We provide opportunities and training to use the Bible all year! We want children learn to trust God all the time (Proverbs 3:1-6) and we encourage each family to study God’s word together at home. Review the lesson with your child each week by asking about the story your child heard. Ask how we can do what God wants.”
God’s Word is important for teaching us how to live yet so few take the effort or time to study it. How do you learn about God’s greatest gift? How do you work on your relationship with God? God’s Word will give guidance on living out your faith.
The world is always interacting with you. How do you know how to react to those interactions? The world’s desire is to take you away from a relationship with God. No amount of discipline, exercises, training, or workouts can keep you in shape for the spiritual battle that is going on around you without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Study God’s word every day. Pray & praise all the way.
There is true value when we connect with each other and God.
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to hear and experience God’s gifts and presence through your church.
Until His return He sent the Holy Spirit to guide and provide so we would not face the world alone.
September 2026 at Living Word –
Your value does not depend on how busy you are, the goals you achieve or the task you complete.
Why do you live with anxieties, fears, and insecurities? The world provides so much over stimulation that people develop a habit of being to busy to spent time with the One True God.
God’s Word is alive, real and relevant in our life. We want to teach our students to see the world the way Jesus sees it and learn to follow the example He gave. See like Jesus & be like Jesus. To be a Christian is to desire to become CHRIST like in our daily living.
Children are more open to learning and receiving God’s plan when they are taught at an early age. They are not the just the future of the church they are a living growing part of the church. We want to teach them early on to follow Jesus example.
September 6 Some one is watching and learning from your actions? What are they learning? From the beginning to the end He set the example for all of us. We can honor God by choosing to do what is right and reject what is wrong. Jesus resisted temptation. We can follow Jesus example to resist temptation. Matthew 4:1-11 Jesus helped his friends. John 13:1-20, 34. John 15:12. We need to hide God’s Word in our heart so we will not sin against him. Psalm 119:11. Spend time in God’s Word. Meditate and memorize, so you can have the fuel you need for the daily battles you face. Proverbs 4:20-22, 7:1-3, Colossians 3:16
September 13 How much time do you spend on electronic devices? Are you communicating or just scrolling through? God wants people to develop a relationship by communicating with Him. When we pray we are talking with God. Reading the Bible we learn God’s message and plan for our life. Jesus even paused from His daily activities to talk with God. Jesus prayed in a garden. We should follow His plan. Jesus leads us by example, teaching we should pray God’s will be done. Matthew 6:5-13. Mark 14:32-40; Luke 11:1, 22:39-46; John 15:12
September 20 If I asked someone to describe you what would they describe you by? Character, Financial status, Groups you belong to, Occupation, Physical attributes, The Way you treat others or something else. God sees everything and wants you to be part of His family. People can learn to love others as God loves them. The crowd may have describe Zacchaeus as a tax collector, rich, short or some other way. Jesus saw him as a man who needed a Savior. Jesus loved Zacchaeus. Jesus called him out by name and he responded. Are you willing to come down from your high place to meet Jesus? We can follow the example that God gave us and grow in what we know to allow God’s Love to show. Luke 19:1-10; John 15:12
September 27 Do you know your true value? Every person is unique and valuable to God. The youngest to the oldest all are invited to come to him. Jesus Blessed the children. Mark 10:13-16; John 15:12; Philippians 2:4-5. You are given the ability and the power to treat all people as important and invite them to come to the Kingdom. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide and provide as you show others how accepted and loved they are by the One True God who created and designed them with a purpose. Don’t hold people back from coming to Jesus.
How do you make sense out of your life? God gave us the ability to choose. There are implications with each choice we make. The best and most important choice anyone can make in life is to accept and follow the path and plan that God designed them for.
