Change is about to come as we begin Fall of 2026. Leaves will change colors and then they let go. Ever wonder what would happen if the tree made the wrong choice and did not prepare for what is to come? Where does the tree get its knowledge so it can prepare for what is to come? Without giving up those leaves the cold, snow, and ice of the winter months could over burden the tree branches causing damage to occur. The tree could be destroyed. The tree must prepare to find rest and protection from what is to come. How are you preparing for what is coming? Matthew 24:3-14; 2 Timothy 3. Are you part of the you however group?
So many people have a great desire to do things their own way. Obedience to others is not something people seek out to do. Yet we ask our children to obey parents, grandparents, teachers, child care workers, and others in authority. Obedience is hard for so many. We tend to ask why should we obey. In Deuteronomy 30:19-20 God ask His children to love and obey Him. God deserves honor, obedience, and respect. How will you respond to Him?
October 4 Why do people doubt and rebel? How long will the people grumble against the One who guides and provides.? Are you aware of how near God really is? Only Joshua and Caleb and your little ones will know the place that you have chosen to reject.– Numbers 13-14; Deuteronomy 30:20; Romans 14:12 We can obey God even when those around us disobey. God deserves respect, obedience, and honor. Our desire should be to live in the presence of God, under His full authority and giving Him all the glory for His guidance and protection. We should submit to God’s authority even when we are in adverse and seemly impossible situations.
October 11 Our daily lives are full of instructions and rules. Do you pay attention to any of them? Some are for our safety and well being. We have to decide will we choose to obey or ignore those. Joshua and Jericho Deuteronomy 30:20; Joshua 6:1-21. We can obey God even when we do not understand. God deserves respect, obedience, and honor. Proverbs 3:5-6; Matthew 6:25; Ephesians 4:32; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
October 18 In countries where there are human kings they hold events with great pomp and circumstance. People come out in large numbers to show their devotion, faithfulness, and loyalty to the royal line. In other places people come out in large numbers to protest and riot many times not even truly understanding the cause and purpose of the event they are attending. Today we look at what was going on with the people when Elijah was on Mount Carmel being challenged by 850 false prophets. – 1 Kings 8:60-61, 18:1-39; Deuteronomy 30:20; Psalm 95:6 There is only one true God. God is worthy of worship. Choose to obey God and worship only Him and nothing else. There is power in the voice of the Lord. Psalm 29. Are you allowing Him to give you strength to stand strong in His will?
October 25 If you were told not to would you do it anyway? Daniel in the Lion’s Den – Daniel 6; Deuteronomy 30:20; Joshua 1:9 We can obey God and follow His way and will wherever we go. Know that God is everywhere at all times. God knows and sees our actions and thoughts. Psalms 139. Ask God to lead you the way of everlasting. God calls all of us in a way that is different from the world around us. We need to align our actions, behavior, thoughts, and words to God’s design and plan for us.
People should make the right choice and choose to love God. Do what is right 2 Corinthians 13:7; Jesus said “Love God with all your heart” Matthew 22:37. Ask God to reveal anything that may be keeping you from a true relationship with God. Lord help us to trust you completely and obey the call.
