August at Living Word – God had a plan – It is just at the right level so you will not be crushed or float away. Gravity is a force that will always be with you as you travel the earth. It is designed to keep you grounded as the earth spins around. Out of nothing God created everything and a plan to hold it all in place. God has always been and will be in control. God has a plan for families to love, help, and respect. Will you allow God to hold you in place in your daily life? He designed you with plan, purpose, and way. You must choose of your own free will to accept and open the gifts.
This month we will be teaching our students how important they are to God and how important relationships are to us and God. Psalm 139:13-18
August 2 All the needed components came together perfectly. The earth floats perfectly in a comfort zone for mankind to live. Any closer or further way from the sun and we would be done. The solar system and trees are more complex than anything a man can make. God created the World – Genesis 1:1-2:3; Psalm 139:14; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16. The world around us teaches of God. The moon reminds us to reflect the Son. The wind reminds us the gentleness and power that can come from something we can not see. The three states of ice, water, and vapor remind us of the Trinity. Take time to enjoy God’s creation and thank Him.
August 9 You were not created or designed to go through life alone. The human ankle, brain, and eye all have a complex design more complex than things man makes. You were created with great abilities to learn, watch, and work to utilize the skills and gifts God gave you. God created People in His image – Genesis 2:4-24; Psalm 139:14; Colossians 3:23; John 14:15 – People were created to mentally, physically, and spiritually interact with God and His creation. God has a plan for you and wants a relationship with you. Get out and use those unique gifts and talents that God has blessed you with.
August 16 Family can create many emotions that range from happy and peaceful to hurt and pain. Family can have complaints, conflicts, fractures, grievances, silence, spite, and many other problems. God call’s us to seek a peaceful solution with kindness, respect, and restoration. Abram solved a Problem. – Genesis 13; Psalm 139:14; Romans 12:18; Colossians 3:9; Ephesians 4:15 – Family members can work out differences. God’s plan is for all family members to work together so that God is honored by their family. Without a loving heart and God’s guidance you will not be able to heal relationships and resolve issues. Ask God to help you take wise steps in your relationships.
August 23 “Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until he has something to forgive” (C.S. Lewis.). Forgiving family members can be challenging because they are the people who can hurt you the worst. Jacob and Esau Reconciled – Genesis 25:27-34; 27; 32-33 ; Psalm 139:14; Colossians 3:13 ; Romans 5:8-10; James 1:19-20 – Family members can forgive one another. God loves families even when family members sin. God is always ready to forgive. How do you reflect the Love of God to your family.
August 30 There are many ways people use to get revenge only to hurt themselves in the long run. Forgive or seek revenge? Joseph had a big choice to make. Joseph came from a dysfunctional family that choose to sell him into slavery when they were given the chance instead of killing him. Yet, Joseph loved and forgave His Brothers – Genesis 37; 41:29-57; 42-43; 45-46; 50; Psalms 139:14; Philippians 2:4; Luke 22:54-62; John 21:15-19; 1 Peter 3:9. We need to forgive others as God forgives us. Jesus offers everyone a chance to be forgiven. Jesus never paid back with evil. Jesus taught about the power of God’s Love. We all need to repent and turn back from bad behaviors accepting the gift or God’s GRACE. God’s Riches At Christ Expense.
