January at Living Word
Things change from year to year but 2 things will last forever. God’s Word & people’s souls. This year commit your soul to the Truth found in God’s Word. God values all people and He is with you wherever you go. Do you seek His wisdom & strength? You are destined to succeed not because of your abilities & talents but because God protects & gives power & wisdom. God has a plan for you. Will you let Him give you the power, strength, & wisdom to make it through this year? God’s Word is relevant & reflects God’s character & power. Remember in times of trouble it is God’s word that will deliver and give hope & life. Commit to studying God’s Word this year. Allow God to be in your life this year.

Jan 1 Joshua was Chosen – Joshua 1:1-9; Deuteronomy 34:9-12; 2 Peter 1:3 – God values all people and He is with you wherever you go. Do you seek His wisdom & strength? Joshua was destined to succeed not because of his abilities & talents but because God protected him. God gave Joshua power & wisdom. God has a plan for you. Will you let Him give you the power, strength, & wisdom to make it through this year?
Jan 8 Joshua & Jericho – Joshua 6:1-21; 2 Peter 1:3 – Joshua faced many great challenges. Joshua did not have to plan his strategy. He just had to follow God’s plan.
Jan 15 Samson – Judges 13-16; 2 Peter 1:3 – God can use people even when they make mistakes. God will work through people to do His work. Learn the secret of your abilities, strength, & wisdom lies in following God’s plan in your life.
Jan 22 Ruth, Boaz, & Obed – Ruth 1:1-22; 2:1-23; 4:13-17; 2 Peter 1:3; Romans12:10; Matthew 1:5-6; Luke 3:31-32 – God has a plan for all families. When things happen in life God will provide a way.
Jan 29 Samuel’s birth & calling – 1 Samuel 1-4:1; 2 Peter 1:3; Psalm 17:6- God wants people to communicate with Him through praying and reading the Bible daily. God does answer prayers when we pray in His will. He has a plan for you are you seeking it?
Youth learn
Jan 1 God’s Word is relevant – Psalm 119:89-96 God’s Word reflects God’s character & power. The psalmist remembers how in times of trouble it is God’s word that delivers and gives hope & life.
Jan 8 Being Confident in truth – Psalm 119:153-160- I can rely on what God Word the Bible teaches me. We all need a standard to follow. God’s standard provides us love & salvation even in our trails & struggles. God provides salvation from sin, judgement, & death through Jesus Christ.
Jan 15 Created for a purpose – Jeremiah 1:4-10 – What is the most valuable thing you have ever seen? Before you were even born God designed you with a great value.
Jan 22 Pray with Joy – Philippians 1:3-11 – Do you seek temporary happiness or true joy? Prayer is an opportunity for you to experience true joy. A man in prison awaiting execution for doing nothing but following God shows us how to experience abundant joy by talking with God.
Jan 29 Share with Joy – Philippians 1:12-21 – What we share reveals what we value. Our relationship with Christ is the most valuable thing we can have. A proper relationship will give us our purpose, salvation, and eternal life with Him. I should be able to share Christ with joy no matter what my circumstance at the moment is. What is the last thing you shared on social media? How does it follow God’s plan in your life?
God does warn us. He told Samuel – I am about to do something that will make everyone in Israel who hears about it will tremble! God warned that those who disobeyed Him would be punished. God also told Samuel that He would grow and prepare those that are willing to train & follow His ways. What is God trying to tell you? Put down the distractions around you and spend some time with God! As you study His Word ask Him to show you What does this say & how does it apply to my life. Take a stand for The Truth found in God’s Word?
