February 2026 – We may not be able to understand why bad things happen. Sometimes we may begin to question God and His love for us. We need to learn that it is possible to find joy and peace no matter the circumstance when we seek and follow His plan. We can not see the things God sees or know what He knows but People can trust God. This month our students will focus on women in the Bible who trusted and obeyed God at difficult times in their life. They learned to find joy regardless of their circumstances. We all need to learn to trust God and not lean on our own understanding.

February 1 When you face a challenging situation what is your response? Do you see a challenge and face it head-on? Do you just embrace the situation and make the best of it? Maybe you are the one who looks for ways to avoid or even runs from challenging situations. People can learn to respond in positive ways to what happens to them. We all need to trust and obey God’s plan for us. Ruth 1-2; Ruth lost her husband, brother in law and father in law and was facing a wide spread famine. Those events could have prevented her from trusting the God of her husbands family. Ruth choose to help Naomi. In doing so she was choosing to leave her own family and go to a foreign land. The difficulty Ruth faced was part of God’s plan to bring our Redeemer. Matthew 1:5-6. We all need to learn and understand that helping others is a way to show love for God. Proverbs 3:5. God designed us with a purpose and gives us a promise Romans 8:28. He can and will work out things for those who stay in His will.

February 8 You may think that God is not listening but that is not the case. God’s timing is not normally our timing. God always answers our prayers but the answer He gives may be different than what we imagine. Psalm 34:17-19 God wants us to communicate with Him. Psalm 17:6; We can do that through reading the Bible, praying to Him, and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and provide. 1 Samuel 1; 3:20 Proverbs 3:5. Hannah Prayed. We can trust God to hear our prayers. Hannah followed through on her answered prayer. She stayed true to her word. Hannah and her son both learned the importance of communication daily with God. Jesus taught His disciples to always pray Luke 18:1-8. Make sure you are praying for His will not yours. Matthew 6:9-15

February 15 Obedience is an important part of living the life that God calls us to live. Noah obeyed God and followed the instructions even though he had never saw a drop of rain in his entire life. Genesis2:5;6. Abraham packed up everything he had and moved from the land he knew into the land of the unknown, Genesis 12. Obedience may require us to surrender and sacrifice as today’s story shows us. We all need to take time to learn about, recognize, and follow God’s authority. We can trust God to do what He says. 1 Kings 17:1,8-16; A widow helped Elijah, the widow recognized God’s authority in her life and trusted God to provide for her family. God demonstrated His power by providing much more than the widow needed. God will hold on to us, Isaiah 41:10; We just need to trust with all our heart, Proverbs 3:5. We need to allow the power to work within us Ephesians 3:14-20. The ultimate example of being obedient is found in Philippians 2:8.

February 22 Have you even been in the right place at the right time? Do you think it was a coincidence? We can trust God even when difficult things are going on. Take time to recognize the gifts and power He can provide for you. Ester 2:2-18;3:8-13;4-5;7-8; Psalm 46:1; Proverbs 3:5 Esther helped her people. Esther’s actions could have led to her death but she trusted God. God created you for such a time as this. How will you respond?
