Living Word Dec 2025 – Celebrate Jesus Birth
– December can be a time of emotional, mental, and spiritual growth or stress. What are you plans? Chaos or Christ? How do you prepare for the CHRISTmas season? Prophets shared God’s plan to send a Savior. God prepared the failing world for Jesus from the very beginning. How have you fit Jesus into your preparations? CHRISTmas is the revealing of Jesus Christ, the Kingdom of God, and the salvation of man. A time to grow in knowledge and a relationship with God. We enter a time of beauty, celebrations, decorations, distractions, fun,giving, stress and many special events. With all the worldly things going on how do you plan to keep Christ in Christmas? The Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled as a foreign government ruler and some wise men from far away took part, How was all this possible? Matthew 19:26. God planned for Jesus to be the Savior from the beginning of time.
December 7 Angel Spoke to Mary and Joseph. Gabriel had spoke to Daniel many years before giving him insight and understanding, telling about a plan of hope for all mankind. Now Gabriel came to talk to Mary to reveal the part she would play in the fulfillment of what the prophets had foretold. An angel also came to Joseph and told him Mary would have child conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph would help raise Jesus. This child will save people from their sins as the prophets had fore told. Matthew 1:18-24; Luke 1:26-38; Isaiah 7:14; Micah 5:2. Mary and Joseph had the courage to step up and fill the roles that God had designed them for. God designed you for a purpose and will provide you the power and resources you need to meet the calling. Ephesians 2:10.
December 14 At 90 years old Sarah heard God tell Abraham that she would be giving birth to a son, she laughed. She was too old, she thought she had lost her abilities to host and nourish a baby in her womb. When that baby was born she named him Isaac which means laughter. Genesis 18:9-15; 21:1-7. Years later Mary learned that nothing is impossible with God. She went to visit Elizabeth who had also been given a miracle pregnancy. When they met the baby in Elizabeth jump for joy. Elizabeth addressed Mary as the mother of my Lord. Luke 1:37-38. People can praise God for the news of Jesus’ birth. When Mary Visited Elizabeth praise welled up and Mary had a song of praise– Luke 1:39-56.: Matthew 1:21 Thank God for the gift of salvation. Know that Nothing is impossible with God.
December 21 A government leader issued a degree that set things in motion to fulfill Micah 5:2. Because of taxes Joseph had no choice but to journey to Bethlehem, the city of David where God sent Jesus to earth to be the Savior. Immanuel, God is with us. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Luke 2:1-20; Matthew 1:21. The story of our Savior’s birth shows us that we do not need to fear the actions of human leaders. Mankind can not defeat God’s plan. How do you share God’s good news?
December 28 Over 600 years earlier Daniel, Micah, Isaiah and others were producing documents that others were now studying. These wise men studied astrology and documents looking for answers. They knew that many of the prophecies from Daniel had already come true. Numbers 24:15-17, Balaam told of a special star that would allow a scepter to rise out of Israel. The Wise Men Worshiped Jesus. From a distant land these men saw a sign they knew about because they had studied the Word. Matthew 1:21; 2:1-12 People should worship Jesus. God still uses nature to teach us to stay in line with His Son. The moon reminds us every month as it shines brightly when properly aligned with the sun. As you think your goals for 2026 think about this one. Don’t set a goal to be a better version of yourself. Instead make your goal to be a better reflection of Jesus.
How do you prepare? In the days before we celebrate, people are too busy to seek His plan. How many even took time to be thankful during a time of Thanksgiving? Keep in mind it is not the perishable things of life, silver, or gold that will matter in the future. The True Gift was chosen for you before the creation of earth as we know it. The Gift was revealed for your sake. Take time to open the Gift God provides for you.1 Peter 1:13-25 Prepare your mind, Be Holy the Word of God lives forever.
